Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship

_

At WAH Psychiatry Clinic, we are passionate about shaping the next generation of mental health professionals. Our PMHNP Preceptorship Program offers nurse practitioner students a meaningful opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive, patient-centered environment. We emphasize compassionate, evidence-based practice while providing real-world exposure to outpatient psychiatric care.

As a small, independently owned private practice, we take pride in offering a personalized and nurturing learning environment where students can grow both professionally and personally. Under the direct supervision of an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), students participate in a variety of clinical experiences—from conducting psychiatric evaluations and observing medication management sessions to learning about ADHD assessments and the day-to-day operations of a mental health clinic.

Our mission is to make every preceptorship experience both educational and inspiring. We want each student who joins our program to leave feeling more confident, capable, and fully prepared to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in their future practice.

About The Program

_

Our PMHNP Preceptorship Program is designed to help nurse practitioner students build confidence, clinical skills, and professional judgment in outpatient mental health care. Under the direct supervision of an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), students gain hands-on experience in a variety of clinical and learning activities, including:

> Conducting psychiatric evaluations
> Participating in medication management sessions
> Observing and learning ADHD assessments, such as the QBTest
> Gaining exposure to telepsychiatry and the daily operations of a private practice

Throughout the preceptorship, students receive personalized mentorship, supportive feedback, and opportunities to work with diverse mental health cases and treatment approaches.

Our goal is to create a learning environment that promotes education, professionalism, and patient-centered care, while helping each student grow in skill, confidence, and compassion. We’re committed to making your clinical journey smooth, enriching, and rewarding.
